Assessments

A suite, not a single instrument.

Some assessments are built for this work. Most are already licensed from providers you may already use. The job isn't to sell you a new one — it's to make sense of what already exists, alongside everything else.

PERFORMANCE & POTENTIAL

What you already run

Performance ratings, potential scores, 9-box placements, succession and readiness labels, flight risk, engagement scores — the data most organisations already collect but rarely see alongside everything else. This is the starting point for almost every engagement, not a new instrument to buy.

PSYCHOMETRIC & CAPABILITY

What established providers already validated

Where an organisation already runs assessments — Korn Ferry, IMD, SHL, Hogan, Saville Assessment, DDI, or whichever provider it already has — that data gets folded into the same view rather than duplicated or replaced. totalia isn't trying to compete with validated, accredited psychometric tools — it's the layer that makes their output useful alongside everything else, whichever ones you already run.

CONSTRUCT DOMAINS

What gets classified

Whatever the source — a psychometric tool, a 360/peer process, a manager rating — the methodology sorts it into one consistent set of domains, so different instruments become comparable instead of sitting in separate silos:

IN DEVELOPMENT

AQ — AI-readiness

An emerging area of focus, not a finished instrument: how leaders judge when to deploy AI versus human judgement, and how ready they are to lead through an AI-driven shift. Directional today — happy to talk through the thinking, but it isn't yet a validated assessment I'd put in front of a client as one.

Why This Matters

Not another vendor to add. A way to use what's already there.

Most organisations don't have too little assessment data — they have too much of it, sitting in different systems, scored differently, never compared side by side. The Succession Risk Audit and TMAP workshop are where these inputs actually get used: reconciled against each other, checked for what they agree and disagree on, and turned into one calibrated view rather than several conflicting ones.

Frequently Asked

Common questions.

Do we need to buy new assessment tools? +

No. If you already run something — Korn Ferry, IMD, an internal tool — that data is a starting point, not a reason to switch. The point of the suite is to combine what exists, not to replace it.

What if our assessment data is old or inconsistent across teams? +

Common, and part of what the diagnostic surfaces — where the data is thin, where it contradicts itself between sources, and what that implies before any calibration conversation happens.

Is AQ something we can use today? +

Not as a standalone, validated assessment — that's a deliberate, honest answer, not a soft no. It's a real area of focus and worth a conversation if AI-readiness is the specific problem, but it isn't packaged as a finished instrument yet.

How does assessment data actually get combined? +

Through the Succession Risk Audit or a TMAP workshop — assessments are an input to those, not a standalone deliverable on their own. See Solutions for how the pieces fit together.

Not sure what you're already sitting on?
