Simon Squibb Says....

On 3rd December 2025 at Thrive Live25 conference with over 300 HR, learning and development specialists I asked the keynote speaker, Simon Squibb, for advice about setting up a business, having just been made redundant.

He asked me, in my career of nearly 30yrs in Talent and Learning & Development what was my biggest pain point?

Without thinking I heard myself say:

“Workplace Bullying”

There is a lot to do, and we are not through the first week yet. My inbox is overflowing and I can’t reply fast enough to people’s lovely comments. Videos are coming, socials are to be rebuilt and content posted there, but for now please share, connect and subscribe to help support.

In the moment when Simon asked me what my biggest pain point had been in my career it was not a conscious, well thought-out statement of intent. It was a deeply unconscious passion that I didn’t realise was a meaningful purpose to me, or anyone else. It was in that moment where the audience of nearly 300 people said it was important, that they would be interested in speaking to me to solve workplace bullying…

The thing is, I don’t know what I am doing here. I don’t have a plan, or expertise or skills in this area. I am not the Wellbeing Guy!

What I do know now is that it is not just me that thinks it is worth solving, and I also know the way we currently try to solve it doesn’t work. So we need to come at it from a new angle, one that will work.

So I need to know if you can help me understand bullying in the workplace, so we can work out together how to solve it!
